For more than a decade, BDI has performed unknown foundation investigations for telecommunications infrastructure using advanced nondestructive testing technologies. Engineers first apply ultraseismic, sonic echo, and impulse response testing to estimate unknown foundation embedment depth.

When challenging site conditions or access limitations prevent the use of conventional methods, BDI turns to parallel seismic (PS) testing. This approach uses a borehole installed adjacent to the foundation and analyzes seismic wave travel times to accurately identify the foundation tip and determine its embedment depth.

Although parallel seismic testing requires drilling, it provides one of the most reliable solutions for evaluating unknown foundations in difficult conditions.
