BDI offers engineering services for structural evaluation using both traditional and advanced methods. These include non-destructive evaluation (NDE), structural testing, and data analytics. Our engineering capabilities include bridge load ratings, development of instrumentation strategies, support for bridge preservation and asset management programs, and refined bridge evaluation for special loads.  

In addition to structural evaluation, our team of data analysts can help our clients with the interpretation and analysis of data generated through big-data applications, monitoring programs, or NDT-E evaluations.

Bridge Load Rating

BDI offers comprehensive load rating and evaluation services, including routine or standard analysis (often performed using AASHTOware BrR), refined analysis using finite element modeling (FEM) software, and literature-based methods tailored to unique structures and conditions. All stamped and sealed ratings are conducted in accordance with the legal jurisdiction of the bridge owner, including but not limited to AASHTO, AREMA, and local or state-specific load rating manuals.

Permit Load Analysis

When oversized or non-standard vehicles need to cross a bridge, BDI delivers rapid, reliable evaluations to ensure structural safety under site-specific controlled conditions.
