BDI supported Datum Group in their installation of an STS Monitoring System on a bridge. The project followed the first phase of another joint BDI/Datum Group project where live load testing was performed on two bridges. Both bridges are made up of six cast-iron arch rib girders with spandrel columns and a concrete deck, one is a single span and the other is double span bridge. The monitoring portion of the project was to focus instrumentation and data collection on specific elements of interest (spandrel columns) following the analysis of the live load test data. BDI provided data acquisition hardware, sensors, and one support engineer to assist in the installation and commissioning of this monitoring system.
