Soil Compression Sensor
Soil Compression Sensor
Soil Compression Sensors (SCS) are pavement sensors that measure displacements in unbound aggregate material. These deflection measurements are either horizontal or vertical. These transducers are perfectly suited for pavements, highways, runways, and railways. The construction materials can be:
- Base
- Subbase
- Subgrade
- Grade
- Ballast
These sensors are ideal for measuring dynamic response in a soil layer. For example, capturing the real-time deflections of passing axle loads.
SCS’s are ruggedized to withstand the harsh environment in soils and construction fill material during placement and compaction.
They are designed to meet IP 67 rating and function to measure compaction or expansion of soils in various subsurface layers. Gages utilize displacement transducers to measure a maximum range of 1.5-in (38mm). Standard Gage Length 7.35 in (186.7mm).
Made in the USA. Standard wiring configurations adapt to most data acquisition systems.
