As part of the bridge construction quality control program, all hanger rods required tension validation during installation. BDI designed, installed, and provided on‐site measurements to the contractor and engineer during the tightening sequence. The system consisted of 256 strain gages, a weather station, and pressure gages.
BDI self‐performed the development of the instrumentation plans, installing all instruments, commissioning, ongoing monitoring, ongoing data reviews, and decommissioning of the system.
BDI continued monitoring for the project with getting vibration measurements for several months following the opening of the structure to rail traffic.
